Alicante is the 11th biggest city in Spain with a population of 335,000. Besides exploring the town center and it's shopping, don't miss the old town ("El Barrio") with it's sloping streets filled with shops, restaurant, bars & clubs. It's also hard to miss one of the largest medieval fortresses in Europe, Castillo de Santa Bárbara with fabulous views. Visit Calle San Fransisco - a family-friendly car free thoroughfare, decorated with mushrooms and slides for the kids to play on.

The house is located in Villajoyosa or La Vila Joios as it's known locally. Villajoyosa is known for having the whitest sandy beaches in the entire Costa Blanca. Villajoyosa is architecturally colourful and the long stretch of white sand is framed by a promenade of bars and restaurants mostly of a Spanish style.
Many people know Villajoyosa as the "Chocolate town", hometown for the chocolate brand Valor. Today you can visit the museum and the factory.
